Calcium Silicon Alloy Ca28Si55 is an important metallurgical material. Its main components are silicon (Si) content >=55% and calcium (Ca) content >=28%. It also contains small amounts of iron (Fe) as well as impurities such as aluminum (Al), carbon (C), phosphorus (P), and sulfur (S).

 Calcium Silicon Alloy Ca28Si55 can replace aluminum for final deoxidation. Its strong deoxidation capacity allows the deoxidation products to float and be discharged easily. It can effectively reduce the oxygen content in steel and improve the purity of molten steel, thereby improving steel properties such as plasticity, impact toughness, and fluidity.

  Calcium and sulfur have a strong affinity. When Ca28Si55 is added to molten steel, the calcium reacts with sulfur to form calcium sulfide, effectively reducing the sulfur content in the steel and mitigating its adverse effects on hot brittleness and other properties.
 In the production of specialty alloys such as nickel-based alloys and titanium-based alloys, Ca28Si55 can be used as an additive to adjust the alloy's composition and properties, improving its casting and mechanical properties.
 Ca28Si55 can also be used as a warming agent in converter steelmaking plants to raise furnace temperatures; in cast iron production, it can be used as an inoculant to promote graphitization and improve cast iron quality; and in ductile iron production, it can be used as an additive to improve its properties.
